The Metro Tuesday 20K Freeroll

Unless you've been living under a rock the past month, you probably have heard about the Metro 20K freeroll every tuesday. This is probably the only TRUE freeroll around, since they dont charge players "entrance fees" and there are no REBUYS. (Rebuys in a goddamn freeroll???) P20,000 up for grabs for the first 50 players to register. Ten minutes after the 6:30pm registration, the 50 seats are usually already all taken!

The event got a special mention in a great article on Pinoy Gambler recently, so check it out!

If I make a suggestion Mav:

Why don't you guys give out free 30 seats then sign up to a maximum of 70 people. Then raffle the 20 seats to the 40 people. That way the first 30 people are still rewarded for their vigilance and the next 40 still has a chance to get their seat.

As it is right now, people are just trampling in inside hehehe.

Overall great job on this!

starting next week, we will be allowing people into the cardroom as early as 530pm. Registration will still open at 630pm, but people can line up INSIDE the cardroom to get their seat cards.

We also plan on starting as early as 730-8pm for the freeroll too.

See you there!

while waiting for the game to start or in case one missed the 50 seats list, are cash games already available? or do they still start at 8?

we start the cash game as early as possible, around 7-7:30.

Quote of the Day

  • The best poker I've ever played has always entailed peace. A relaxed comfort. Eyes open, ears open, radar up. Absorbing my opponent's every message. Taking them as they come. Not mixing what those messages are with what I want them to be. It's like an aerial view. A view from above the myriad luck-dependent reactions of those many people who never gain such a peace. And when you gain that view, that peace - when you'd rather have the truth, no matter how disappointing, over a false hope, no matter how desirable - then you're a player. The hand you're on slips into a stream of thousands of other hands, no one of which, because of your lofty view, seems unduly important, no false fearful emotions rise within you. When you gain the peace of lofty perspective, you're a player, and when you're a player, you're free.- from "King of a Small World" by Rick Benett
