What a year eh?

If you want to see a great retrospective on the year 2006 in Poker, check out Nick's PokerFilipinas website! He wrote a great article on the entire year and the events that happened in the poker industry here in the RP.

But looking forward to 2007, i can barely contain my excitement. As most of us already know, this is the year that Poker in the RP will finally have a place to call home. Not a Casino, not an underground room, but a legitimate brick and mortar card room that is purely for the game of Poker, and tailor-made for poker players.

But more important is the fact that this place will be run by people who ARE part of the local poker scene, who knows what poker players actually want and need. International standards for rules and policies; fair and player-friendly tournament structures; cash games stakes and limits that will cater to every poker joe, from Mr.High roller to your average grinder to the recreational weekend player; an environment that feels like YOUR OWN, where everybody will know your name.

In this place, players will ALWAYS be put first above everything else.
